This makes me sick to my stomach.

The silhouette on the shooting target is faceless. But the hoodie, the Skittles and the iced tea leave nothing to the imagination. This is meant to be Travyon Martin, the unarmed 17-year-old shot to death in February in Sanford, Florida.

Skittles brand candy is clearly depicted on the targets. The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, a division of Mars Inc., produces and markets Skittles. They could stop the sale of these targets by taking legal action against the Hiller Armament Company, which sells the targets online.

This is one of the most reprehensible, indefensible, and disgusting things I have ever seen in my life. I can’t believe someone at the Hiller Armament Company thought this was okay.

Basic human decency says we need to stop this.

Should home and apartment builders be required to install monitors in every room they build to ensure that the Government can surveil all human communications in order to prevent threats to national security and public safety? I believe someone once wrote a book about where this mindset inevitably leads. The very idea that no human communication should ever be allowed to take place beyond the reach of the Government is definitive authoritarianism, which is why Saudi Arabia and the UAE — and their American patron-ally — have so vigorously embraced it.

Greenwald points out that the FBI does not need this, because they can go to a judge, get a warrant, and use traditional surveillance when it’s necessary. “But what about encryption?!” Well: 

the problem cited by the FBI to justify this new power is a total pretext: “investigators encountered encrypted communications only one time during 2009′s wiretaps” and, even then, “the state investigators told the court that the encryption did not prevent them from getting the plain text of the messages.” As usual, fear-mongering over national security and other threats is the instrument to justify massive new surveillance powers that will extend far beyond their claimed function.

I’m profoundly disappointed in the Obama administration’s record on civil rights and privacy. I expected better from a president who is a Constitutional law scholar.

tl;dr: The very idea that no human communication should ever be allowed to take place beyond the reach of the Government is definitive authoritarianism

The bill contains provisions to prohibit tax deductions for abortion insurance coverage and abortion services; to provide for a sales tax on abortion; to establish a personhood stance for when life begins; to limit late-term abortions; to prohibit state employees from performing abortions during the workday; and to mandate that doctors tell women that abortion cause breast cancer along with other state-approved health issues.

The bill also allows doctors to withhold medical information from a woman if it might lead her to have an abortion. It prevents medical professionals from facing a medical malpractice suit in the event that withholding the information adversely affects the health of the mother or child. A wrongful death suit could be filed in the event of the mother’s death. (via Huff Post)

What the ACTUAL fuck?

Think about this for a second: the state of Kansas — a legislature that is not made up of medical professionals — just passed a law — a law! — forcing medical professionals to lie to their patients, even if that lie will lead to serious injury or death.

Doctors help people. Doctors go to school for years to learn how to best care for their patients. Doctors swear an oath to do just that… and these politicians have decided to pass a law forcing doctors to do exactly the opposite.

This is criminal. Every single one of those lawmakers should be immediately removed from office, and when the first woman or child dies because of this law, they should all be tried for murder.

What. The. Fuck. Is. Wrong. With. These. People.

Realization

So, I think I’ve finally come to the realization that no one follows this, so I can do whatever I want on here without caring who sees it.

Feeling like my life is a piece of $#!+ and going nowhere…gonna go watch a movie or two.

I’m really hating this lack of a job. I want a job so I can actually do stuff, spend money, catch up on bills, and seem more attractive to girls. No one wants to date an unemployed bum who lives at home :(

Past week

So, I was lazy yet again, surprise surprise. I’m about a week behind.

Friday to Sunday was Shadow Realms LARP. I NPC’d so I got to play a variety of roles. From spore infected animals, to a spore abomination, to a Romani (that got tons of compliments on my RP, so I was squeeing a bit when I saw the reviews) to an ice elemental and others.

It was a good weekend. I slept alright in my tent and sleeping bag. It barely rained, which I told people, as they all feared it would be so bad that weekend. The rest of the week so far has been recovering still as I was pretty sore from being killed sooo much.

Thursday we went out to dinner as a family for my brother-in-law’s birthday dinner. But the big thing, was that earlier in the day I won a leather face mask for LARP. (picture in my last post) that I was soo close to having be a pair of epicly awesome leather gauntlets, but the mask just looks kick ass and should be very unique.

Nothing to report of importance for Friday.

Oh, last Thursday I had a job interview, but havent heard from them yet, so with it being over a week, I’m no longer holding my breath for them to contact me. On to other options.
